{"id":5300,"date":"2023-02-28T23:31:36","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T04:31:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/?p=5300"},"modified":"2023-02-28T23:31:37","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T04:31:37","slug":"canadas-supply-chain-impacted-by-trucking-labour-shortages-poll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/canadas-supply-chain-impacted-by-trucking-labour-shortages-poll\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada\u2019s supply chain impacted by trucking labour shortages: poll"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The majority of Canadians considering trucking the most important mode of transportation when it comes to getting goods delivered across Canada, according to a survey published by the Canadian Trucking Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the survey, just over half of Canadians polled (51%) ranked trucking the most important, significantly higher than rail (19%), air (18%) and marine (13%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"436\" height=\"266\" src=\"https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2023\/02\/Trucking.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Trucking.jpg 436w, https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Trucking-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 436px) 100vw, 436px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Source: Canadian Trucking Alliance<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadians were nearly unanimous (96%) in believing that labour shortages in trucking and logistics impacted Canada\u2019s supply chain and the ability to go to market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 60% of respondents believed that trucking labour shortages are impacting the food supply chain in a major way. As well, 67% believed that the current shortage of retail products can be directly attributed to the lack of labour in trucking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canadian Trucking Alliance recently presented the Federal Government with an investment strategy to help stabilize the supply chain.
