{"id":5280,"date":"2023-01-31T22:48:53","date_gmt":"2023-02-01T03:48:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/?p=5280"},"modified":"2023-01-31T22:48:53","modified_gmt":"2023-02-01T03:48:53","slug":"cbsa-concludes-expedited-review-of-certain-upholstered-seating-from-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clearit.ca\/canadian-customs-broker-blog\/cbsa-concludes-expedited-review-of-certain-upholstered-seating-from-china\/","title":{"rendered":"CBSA concludes expedited review of certain upholstered seating from China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has concluded an expedited review of the following Chinese companies who ship products to Canada that are subject to the Upholstered Domestic Seating case of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dongguan Advantech Polyurethane Foam Products Co., Ltd. (Dongguan Advantech);<\/li>\n<li>Jiashan Foamtech Furniture Ltd. (Jiashan Foamtech) and their related trading company;<\/li>\n<li>Fine Home Limited (Fine Home);<\/li>\n<li>and by the exporter Gold Lion Furniture (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (Gold Lion)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the purposes of the review, upholstered goods are broadly defined as including sofas, chairs, loveseats, sofa beds, day beds, futons, ottomans, stools, and home theatre seating that are upholstered with a covering of leather, fabric, or both.<\/p>\n<p>The following products are excluded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stationary (i.e. non motion) seating upholstered only with fabric (rather than leather), even if the fabric is a leather-substitute,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>dining table chairs or benches that are manufactured for dining room end-use, which are commonly paired with dining table sets,<\/li>\n<li>upholstered stools with a seating height greater than 24 inches (aka \u201cbar stools\u201d or \u201ccounter stools\u201d),<\/li>\n<li>seating manufactured for outdoor use, such as patio chairs,<\/li>\n<li>bean bag seating, and<\/li>\n<li>foldable or stackable seating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Expedited reviews are conducted by the CBSA upon request of an exporter to review the normal value, export price, and amount of subsidy on goods subject to a particular SIMA case currently in force.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, normal values have been issued to these exporters. Imports of subject goods from these exporters which have been sold to Canada at or above the normal values issued, will not be subject to anti-dumping duties.<\/p>\n<h2>What it means for importers<\/h2>\n<p>It is the importer\u2019s responsibility to calculate and declare their\u00a0anti-dumping\u00a0duty liability.
