The report continued to state that both Canada and the USA are satisfied with the progress and will even move above and beyond prior commitments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Phase I<\/em> has consisted of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 16px;\">transmission of routine biographic entry information of both residents and non resident of the United States &amp; Canada (4 entry points only).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through <em>Phase I<\/em>, authorities were able to identify:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 16px;\">potential overstays<\/span><\/li>\n<li>identification of potential unexecuted immigration warrants\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>better document anomalies\/fraud.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Phase II is set to begin June 30th, 2013<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"canada customs entry initiative \" alt=\"Canada US entry initiative\" src=\"http:\/\/i.huffpost.com\/gen\/491841\/thumbs\/r-CANADA-US-BORDER-PRICE-GAP-DISPARITY-DIFFERENCE-large570.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the initiative:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cbsa.gc.ca\/media\/release-communique\/2013\/2013-05-13-eng.html\">http:\/\/cbsa.gc.ca\/media\/release-communique\/2013\/2013-05-13-eng.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a joint report filed by both Canada Border Services Agency and the United States Department of Homeland Security on phase I of the Entry\/Exit initiative, indications show progress on a shared information system improving border security for both parties.
